On Political Violence

I have always been against any type of violence infecting the political system. But sometimes, greater measures are needed.

Something broke me this week. The story of the Biloela Family, a story thats been bubbling and angering me for years, just finally ate into the last bit of my doubt.

Sometimes, violence is the answer.

Justifiable, Proportinate Violence

When the Police forces don't do anything. When the Courts can't do anything. When elections are too far away to have any worth. And when petitions are also worthless. What options are left?

It's a point in time when words have no meaning. Debates will not set this family free, and no matter how many times the media questions, or essays like this are written; the Government will just ignore.

Violence then becomes the only alternative.

This is not a call for assassinations, or hospitalisations of less Honourable members of Parliament. But this is a call to do things that make people take notice. Things that can't be ignored.

Egg Boy had the right idea with what he did to Fraser Anning.

The egging of offices, the egging of Politicians, the physical harrassment of Politicians. These are the things that make them an object of scorn.

And more importantly, they can't ignore it.

It's about the only thing that can't be ignored.

The Dangers of Violence

There is a moral danger to this. The introduction of this type of violence in the Democratic System might simply beget more, worse violence against all sides. It might turn the Politicians into victims.

This would be a horrible outcome.

But I would argue that the moral danger of doing nothing in this situation is far worse.

A family has been torn from their home and tortured for three years for absolutely no reason. This demands a response. And so far, all we have are the uncaring dead eye responses from Government members who have long since sold their morality to the highest bidder. Members who have not had an original thought since they parked their arses on the leather seats of Parliament.

Nothing can change without changing how we do things.

Anytime reform becomes impossible, Violence becomes inevitable.
