The Violence of Silence

It's very rare that I actually get viscerally angry. But the stories coming out from Tasmania's Ashley Youth Justice centre has just broken something in me.


I am Enraged. As every single person in this country should be.


There is no room here for wit or explanation. The actions the State has and is taking against children are simply wrong. And anyone who now stays silent on it, after they find out about it, are as guilty as the perpertrators of this violence.


That is the violence of silence.


Cowardice is not an option is this situation. Ambivalence will be taken as consent to these actions.


So raise your voice for real justice. Raise it against abuse.
